Maine offers a variety of tax reimbursement programs which can result in elimination of state corporate income tax (
Pine Tree Zone program), no effective personal property tax on machinery and equipment (
BETE program), up to 80% reimbursement of Maine income tax withholdings from new employees (
ETIF program), and partial real and property tax refunds from municipalities (
TIF program).
