Maine's Pine Tree Zones Credited with Adding 200 Jobs in Sanford

November 2006

SANFORD –Oxford Aviation has announced expansion plans that aim to bring 200 new jobs to Sanford.
Oxford Aviation looked at a number of locations for its expansion project, but chose to stay – and expand – in Maine. Their decision to remain in Maine was due in part to Maine’s Pine Tree Zone program, the efforts of state and local leaders, and Maine’s quality and talented workforce.

Oxford Aviation started in 1989 with one employee. By 1999, Oxford Aviation was located in a 45,000 square foot facility with 50 employees. In 2006, Oxford Aviation employs 60 employees and plans for an additional 200 employees with the expansion.

Oxford Aviation was awarded a Community Development Block Grant for $400,000 to aide in the expansion.
